Fleetwood's fixtures announced

Fleetwood Town will visit Solihull Moors on the opening game of the season – a place where Ricky Mercer and Chris Williams ensured a share of the spoils last term

Town fans won't need to wait too long for a home game as Hyde United visit the Fylde Coast three days later on Tuesday 11th August.

Manager Micky Mellon is pleased the fixtures are now released. "I'm happy we now know who and when we are up against.

There's never an easy time to go to any club in the Blue Square North. You are always going to face a difficult game at this level. It's enough to say we know just what we are working towards now the fixtures are out.

An early test for Mellon's team arrives just three games into the season and for the first Saturday home game. AFC Telford return following defeat in their last Highbury visit after single Jamie Milligan strike.

The manager added "I'm delighted to meet Telford in our second home game. It will give the fans an early chance to see some of the fancied teams in the division and we will find out exactly how we shape up."

Turning to the festive period, Mellon say the fans in store for a real Christmas cracker.

"The Boxing Day and New Years' Day fixtures will be good for both teams. Two derby games at that time of the year will no doubt attract big crowds. They are exciting fixtures, but are a long way off at the moment.

"The focus now is Solihull Moors away and everything we do will be pointed towards that game."
