GRAHAM Alexander’s first game in charge of Fleetwood Town ended in stalemate.

Visitors Southend twice put the ball in the net inside the first 45 minutes, but both efforts were ruled offside.

Fleetwood were much improved in the second half and could gave grabbed a late winner when Steven Gillespie found himself with space in front of goal, his shot blazed over the bar.
