Dobbie: I'll play anywhere

STEPHEN Dobbie doesn't care where he plays during Blackpool's charge for the play-offs, as long as he's on the pitch.

The Scot earned a recall for the win over Ipswich and has fingers tightly crossed that he keeps his place for the trip to West Brom.

Dobbie, 27, has started only three of Pool's eight games since he arrived on loan from Swansea.

But he is thoroughly enjoying life on the Fylde and hopeful of an extended run in the starting 11.

"It was a good to be back in the team at the weekend and I felt we played really well and won a hard-fought three points," he said.

"Since I came here I've been really enjoying my football. The gaffer has been brilliant and the Scottish boys in particular, Charlie Adam and Stephen Crainey, helped me settle in.

"It's also enjoyable playing in the manager's formation. It's helped me learn more about the game because he asks the frontmen to play a slightly different role.

"I'll play anywhere he asks me to as part of our front three ... I really don't mind as long as I'm out there on the pitch.

"But you can't take anything for granted and I just hope I can keep myself in the team and help the boys achieve their aims."

And there are no doubt what those aims are...

"We want to make the play-offs," he said.

"Results show anybody can beat anybody on their day, so we've just got to make sure that come the last couple of games we are close to the play-offs and give ourselves a real good chance of pushing on into that top six.

"There are some big games coming up, the next two away matches in particular – at West Brom and Sheffield United – are massive.

"If we can take a few points from those then it would be great because there's no doubt they will be tough."

Dobbie will be looking forward to the visit to West Brom. He made his Pool debut against the Baggies last month, and scored after coming on as a sub.

"But we lost 3-2 soit wasn't a night you could enjoy," he added.

"But we showed that evening we can match them and if we go there and apply ourselves we can get three points."
