Lancashire duo sign up to new deals

Livingstone (23) has extended his contract until 2019 and Mahmood (19) until 2018, with the pair enjoying breakthrough seasons for Lancashire in 2016.

Both players, who graduated through the Lancashire academy, played for England Lions last year against Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A.

Head coach Glen Chapple said, “They are two highly promising young cricketers who have made real progress over the last 12 months.

“Both players are going to form an important part of the side in the next few years, in all formats. We are very excited to see how their development continues in the coming years.”

Livingstone had an outstanding season in all formats for Lancashire last year.

Livingstone said: “Playing cricket for Lancashire is all I’ve ever wanted to do and I’m delighted to have signed a new contract.

“I have supported the club ever since I can remember and I hope to win more silverware with the Red Rose in the years to come.”

Mahmood commented, “I’m thrilled - Lancashire have shown great faith in me throughout my development and have been crucial to my progress as a cricketer.

“It’s an exciting time to be a part of the squad and hopefully I can play an important role in the coming years.”
