Layton Juniors Clarets were in fine form as they beat St Annes Yellows at Moor Park in the Poulton and District Primary C League clash.
The win continued Clarets’ recent fine run and they started the contest with all guns blazing.
Taylor Davies Hall scored within 30 seconds of the kick-off.
This fired up St Annes Yellows, who replied with an outstanding goal from Tyler Chamberlain after five minutes.
Layton then took control and added further goals from Kieran Glover, John Rhodes, Harley Liddle and two more from Davies Hall, who completed his hat-trick before half-time.
It was 6-1 to Layton at the interval.
Man of the match was Spencer Precious, who was faultless in defence
Yellows came out purposefully in the second half and were rewarded with a second goal by Max Robinson.
Layton responded in kind.
Liddle scored twice for Clarets to complete his own hat-trick.
A final goal by Sean Precious sealed victory for them.
Yellows’ manager Steve Robinson paid tribute to Layton afterwards.
He said: “They deserved to win and played very well as a team.
“A positive take for us was that two new players performed very well and showed great improvement from previous weeks.
“Well done Luke Moore on his second half performance in goal and George Kitching in midfield, who was awarded our man of the match.
Layton manager Paul Precious said: “It was a well deserved three points.
“Man of the match was Spencer Precious, who was faultless in defence.
“This was a game played in the right way with a lot of respect displayed from both teams.”
