BLACKPOOL boxer Brian Rose will defend his British light-middleweight title against Sam Webb at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, on October 13, on the under-card of the heavyweight showdown between David Prince and Audley Harrison.
It will be Rose’s third defence of the title and, provided he defeats Webb, then he will get to hang on to the Lonsdale Belt for keeps.
It promises to be one of the big domestic boxing occasions of the autumn schedule and the Rose camp is looking for a big following from his home-town.
On the top of the bill Price and former Olympic champion Harrison meet for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
Rose will be confident of victory, for he beat Prince Arron to take the light-middleweight strap – Webb had been beaten by Arron prior to that.
Rose has had two tough defences since the win over Arron in December, beating Max Maxwell and Kris Carslaw in 12-rounders – the fact he will retain the precious Lonsdale Belt with a win over Webb will be the spur in October.
