Blackpool boxer Brian Rose suffered the fourth loss of his professional career as he went down to a points defeat at the hands of Matthew Macklin at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.
It was a gruelling encounter in what was a crossroads fight for both boxers.
Both men had a point deducted as the action got scrappy.
In the end it was Macklin, who was given the verdict.
One judge had it 113-113, but the other two arbiters gave it to Macklin by the margin of 115-111.
At stake was the International Boxing Federation inter-continental middleweight title.
