Kirkham boxer Adam Little is in confident, relaxed mood ahead of his English title challenge at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool on Saturday night.

And Little says he has not been concentrating too much on his rival, Sunderland’s Lee Mould.

Instead, he has bee making sure, first and foremost, that his own preparation is spot on for such an important fight that could pave the way to a British title shot in the long term.

However, at this point Little is looking no further than the challenge facing him on Saturday night’s show - and he knows that his determined foe will be no pushover.

For the first time in his career, Mould, like Little unbeaten as a professional, has taken a month off work as postman - with all the attendant early starts that entails - to prepare for Saturday’s big night.

Little said of Mould’s own single-minded approach: “I didn’t expect any less.

“For me it is a 50/50 fight, but if I turn up on the and with all my training having gone to plan, then I should win hands down.

“I have not bothered too much about Mould, just making sure I concentrate on what I know I have to do.

“But I do know it will be a hard fight.

“Mould comes forward and throws a lot of punches.

“It can be a boxing match or it can turn into a proper fight - I will be ready for both.”

Little has enjoyed top level sparring in the run-up to this weekend’s clash,

He has sparred with Russian David Avanesyan, who is ranked number nine in the world with one of the sanctioning bodies and who also appears on the Saturday bill at the Hilt.

In addition, the Kirkham fighter has also sparred with Jimmy Kelly, the World Boxing Council Youth World super welterweight title holder, so he has left little to chance and cut no corners.

Little said: “Training has gone really well and there have been no problems. It is just a question of keeping my weight down - though that is not a issue - and doing some speed work with my trainer Alan Levene.”

The weight-in for Little verus Mould is due to take place at the fight venue on Friday lunchtime. Kirkham boxer Adam Little is in confident and relaxed mood ahead of his English welterweight title challenge at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool on.
