Blackpool boxer Matty Askin has got his British title chance.
He will box for the cruiserweight belt on October 25 in Liverpool when he meets Oville McKenzie.
There will be a double incentive for Askin as the Commonwealth strap is also on the line.
Askin, the current English champ, said: “This is a great opportunity for me.
“ I have always dreamed of winning the British title - it is the best belt in the world for me.
“To get a chance at the Commonwealth at the same time is the icing on the cake.
“Oville is a dangerous opponent as Jon-Lewis Dickinson found out to his periI, so I won’t be taking him lightly and I think there will be a few fireworks flying.
“I am excited about this fight and I want to thank Frank Warren for giving me this opportunity to show what I can do.”
Askin continued: “Paul Butler, from Liverpool, boxes for a world title on the show so it’s going to be a big night of boxing for the North West.
“Hopefully one day i can fight for a world title in front of my home town fans in Blackpool.”
McKenzie currently holds both British and Commonwealth belts after toppling Dickinson, who claims Askin among his victims.
