Blackpool manager Michael Appleton insists he doesn’t want to sell any of his star players this month.
Tom Ince is said to be high on Liverpool’s transfer window wish-list, while skipper Alex Baptiste was reported to be the subject of a £1m bid from Championship rivals Leicester.
Pool are highly reluctant to sell either player and will do everything in their power to keep both, and manager Appleton is adamant he doesn’t want anyone to leave.
Appleton said: “There’s no-one I’d like to sell from my current starting 11.
“I’d like to keep them all and add three or four new faces to compete to be in the starting 11.
“There’s no point bringing players in to come and sit on the bench.
“If we are able to bring in three or four new faces, it would give everyone a lift.
“It’s about getting the right ones. We won’t be panicking and bringing in the wrong type of players.
“We play a certain brand of football, which is pleasant on the eye and creative, so it’s important we get the right players in.”
Pool have drawn up a list of transfer targets, with a striker being made a high priority.
“Anyone who was at the game against Huddersfield on Boxing Day will recognise that we need to get a striker in,” said the boss.
“Matty Phillips is a few weeks away, but having him available will be a big bonus for us.”
