Blackpool have decided against offering a contract to Freddy Adu but he’s staying with the club for the time being.
The USA international has been training with the Seasiders for the past three weeks in an attempt to impress boss Barry Ferguson.
He has played in two behind-closed-doors games but has now been told there won’t be a deal on the table.
But the 24-year-old has been given permission to continue training at the club in an attempt to raise his fitness.
Ferguson explained: “There is nothing happening with Freddy. He’s come in and worked hard with us. He is a great lad but I’m more than happy with what I’ve got. I have a strong squad.”
