IAN Evatt is desperate for Ian Holloway to stay at Bloomfield Road.
The Pool boss has been linked with a number of vacant manager role in recent weeks, speculation which is refusing to go away.
He remains among the favourites for the job at Ipswich Town, with odds tumbling this morning despite reports Mick McCarthey had landed the job.
Blackburn are expected to announce their new manager in the next 24 hours, while Holloway is still in the running, many believe Henning Berg is leading that race.
But Evatt, who surprised young Pool fans with his visit to a Halloween Party at Bloomfield Road yesterday, thinks his manager is going nowhere.
“I’m sure the Gaffer (Holloway) wants to stay as much as we all want him to,” he said.
“We love the Gaffer, the Gaffer loves us and we all only want the best for Blackpool Football Club.”
The 30-year-old defender thinks Saturday’s performance against Brighton shows the Seasiders have turned the corner after a difficult run of results.
Pool have only won one out of their last seven, something Evatt isn’t worrying about too much.
He said: “Even the best teams get a lack of confidence sometimes, and that happened to us.
“We were flying early on in the season and all of a sudden Huddersfield came and turned us over.
“The Gaffer worked hard last week on making us believe in ourselves again and believe we are a top team.
“On Saturday we showed what a great team we are, if you ask the Brighton players they’ll tell you we are the best team they’ve played this season.
“We’ve only got two points, but it’s been two good performances, so it’s been a good week for us.
“If we play like that week in, week out we’ll be fine.
“To read the messageboard rubbish is wrong and mistaken.
“We’ve had a bad spell where we’ve lost a bit of confidence, but we’ve come out fighting.
“You read these stupid messageboards sometimes and you read about the Gaffer losing the changing room or whatever else. It’s ridiculous people actually think that.”
