Student Isaac Towers struck silver in the 800 metres T-38 race at the IPC European Championships in Swansea

The wheelchair athlete, from Catterall who attends AKS School, Lytham, took second place behind the gold medal winner Henry Manni, of Finland.

The winning time was 1:55.18.

Earlier at the meeting, he had finished seventh in the 100m final and said he had been confident of a medal going into the 800m, his best event.
