BLACKPOOL does indeed rock!
And that’s not just the opinion of the happy revellers who enjoyed some of the world’s top dance DJs at the Blackpool Rocks event.
That was the reaction from Dutch house superstar Oliver Heldens, who played to the masses at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on Friday night.
He tweeted after the event: “Yes, was awesome!”.
Fellow star DJ Danny Howard tweeted: “Big up #Blackpool for bringin it last night”.
Oliver, Nero and Radio 1’s Danny were just some of the world famous performers who hit the stage at the Empress Ballroom.
They were also joined by Will Wallace, from Out Rawcliffe, near Garstang, who won a spot at Blackpool Rocks after winning the show’s competition using his own house music mixes.
Out of ten mixes posted on the Blackpool Rocks’ Facebook page, Will’s won for getting the most attention.
In his case, he got nearly 3000 likes and more than 2,500 shares.
The massive dance gathering, which has now been held four times, is organised by Fylde-based promoters Cuffe and Taylor, the men behind the popular Lytham Proms and other major events. As well as Alex Huckerby and Danny Howard.
