One was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital after hurting his neck in the two-car crash, in Preston New Road, while the other was described by police as ‘walking wounded’.

Neither were seriously hurt however, it is believed.

The road was partially blocked on the way into Freckleton after the collision, which happened at 6.05pm on Thursday and involved a blue Peugeot 307 and a silver Honda Civic.

Motorists reported a ‘really bad’ scene as the emergency services arrived, with one of the cars left teetering on a grass verge.

One lane was blocked but the road was not closed by police, it was understood.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said two ambulances attended, with paramedics treating the men for their injuries.

The cars were taken away by tow-trucks at 9.10pm, a spokeswoman for Lancashire Police added.

Nobody was arrested, and an investigation into the cause of the crash was launched by officers.
