CAN I welcome the excellent news that the Snowdrop Centre is to remain open (Gazette, November 1).
This is a tribute to the persistence of Linda Jones and Len Curtis of Donna’s Dream House, who have worked hard to find a solution.
Many may not have been aware of the work of the Snowdrop Centre, and how it differs from other bereavement provision in the town, but it is important to realise they have a specialism in providing support to families who lose children unexpectedly.
We also have, of course, the excellent support provided by the Linden Centre through Trinity Hospice and Brian House, which focuses on those who experience life-limiting conditions.
The Snowdrop Centre is just one of many excellent, small local charities without whom our community would be so much the poorer, and all involved are to be congratulated.
