Woman hurt after collision with car in Blackpool

A woman in her 40s suffered minor injuries after being involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta earlier.

Police and paramedics were called to the junction with George Street and Gorton Street just after 3pm.

One witness said officers had closed Gorton Street to traffic from the junction with Talbot Road.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said an ambulance was sent to the scene, but was unable to immediately give more information.

Police said the woman has escaped serious injuries however.
