A driver has been cut from her car following a collision in Blackpool.

The incident happened at around 3.10pm on Common Edge Road, Marton outside South Shore Cricket Club.

A Grey Seat Leon and a Grey Hyundai were involved.

The male driver of one car was able to walk clear but was complaining of pain in his arm.

Police said the elderly female driver of the other vehicle had to be cut out by fire crews.

She is suspected to have suffered a broken arm in the crash.

Common Edge Road remains closed while emergency services work at the scene.

Traffic has built up on alternative routes with delays building all the way back to Squires Gate Lane.
