POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was stabbed in Blackpool.
The incident happened on Tyldesley Road at around 11:20pm on Saturday night.
The victim, a 21 year old local woman was returning home from work when she was approached by a man who demanded that she handed over money.
She told him that she did not have any money so the man reached around her and stabbed her in the back before calmly walking away.
The victim only received minor injuries and is now recovering at home.
Detective Constable Liam Davy from Blackpool’s Robbery Team said, “I would appeal to anyone who was on the area at the time and witnessed the incident to come forward and contact the police.
“It is a minor miracle that the victim did not receive more serious injuries and the person responsible needs to be caught and brought to justice.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Blackpool CID on 101.
