POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Blackpool.
The 50-year-old, from Blackpool, was involved in a collision with a Black Honda Civic Type R on Talbot Road, outside Apollo 2000, around 7.10pm on Saturday.
He suffered serious injuries to his spine and abdomen and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where his condition was said to be stable.
The driver of the Honda was uninjured and the road was closed for four hours between Larkhill Street and Elizabeth Street to allow collision investigators to carry out their work.
Sgt Finn Quainton, from the Force Roads Policing Unit, said: “An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is now under way. If anybody witnessed it then I would ask them to contact police.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who saw the black Honda Civic Type R being driven prior to the collision.”
