WOULD you like to see your face in lights?
As part of its centenary celebrations, the Blackpool Illuminations team is offering residents the chance to see their face take pride of place in a Lights tableau.
The display will feature in the new Centenary Heads section of Andy Warhol-style pop art images.
And The Gazette is giving you the opportunity to nominate someone you think deserves their chance to shine.
So get your entry in for the person you think most worthy of the honour of being a glittering part of the world famous Lights display.
Natalie Wyatt, managing director of Marketing Blackpool, said: “This is a great competition for people who love Blackpool Illuminations.
“It will be fantastic for the winners to bring their families to our resort and see their face in the Lights.
“There are only 210 places in the Centenary Heads display so it is great that we can give these places away. I am really looking forward to seeing how the public vote goes for all the entries because the fact that we already have an entry from the USA proves just how popular Blackpool is across the globe.”
Marketing Blackpool is also giving away four spaces on its I Love Blackpool Facebook page based on a public vote and entries have already been received from as far away as Alabama in the USA. The colourful section follows on from the successful Famous Heads display which featured in last year’s Illuminations with faces including Keith Lemon, Les Dawson, Ken Dodd and Dame Shirley Bassey.
To guarantee a spot in the Blackpool walk of fame residents can purchase a display space for £100, plus VAT.
