Beauty technician Jamie Didlock is hoping Fylde coast residents will get behind her and help her nail it in a top competition.
The 28-year-old will represent the area today at Professional Beauty North, in Manchester.
She will be competing against people from across the country and if she wins, her work could be published in an international magazine, which would raise her profile.
The mum of two, from Thornton, came up with her idea for her entry, for the Photographic Nail Art category, after getting married in Ibiza.
The photo is of Jamie, showing beautifully decorated nails, wearing a white cap, sunglasses and headphones – and features a bunch of cherries, to look like the logo for Ibiza’s famous Pacha nightclub.
Jamie, who is a self-employed nail technician and is married to Tom, said: “I’ve always been interested in nails and been doing nails for about six years.
“I started specialising in nail art about four years ago.
“I got the inspiration for the design, after getting married in Ibiza in June.
“There were posters and adverts everywhere for Pacha, featuring the logo.
“It really caught my eye.
“The competition category isn’t just involving the nail art, it’s for the whole photo.
“So I tried to capture that Ibiza and DJing vibe.
“I made the little cherries out of acrylic myself.
“I will be attending on Monday, in Manchester – there’s always lots of celebrities there – when the winner will be announced.
“I’m really excited about it and hoping everyone on the Fylde coast will get behind me as the judging is partly on the public vote.
“I’m the only person from the area to enter and it would mean so much to me to win.”
