A man broke a court order when he repeatedly contacted his estranged wife by text and social media sites.

Ronald Challinor was described by his wife as a man who clearly needed help for his mental health problems.

Challinor, 45, of St Andrews Road South, St Annes, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order.

He was bailed for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced later by Blackpool magistrates.

Alison Quanbrough, prosecuting, said Challinor was put on a restraining order which banned him from contacting his wife after an offence of assaulting her in August 2013.

His wife did not support the prosecution. She believed he was in urgent need of mental health support.
