The Gazette’s Best of Health Awards are getting closer, and next week the shortlist will be revealed.

The expert panel of judges will meet on Friday to decide the top nominees in each category.

Those who make the shortlist will then be invited to a glittering ceremony at the De Vere Village Heron’s Reach, on Friday, June 8.

The celebration event will feature a three-course meal and entertainment. Winners will be presented with their trophies and the runners-up with their certificates.

The awards aim to celebrate and honour all of those who work tirelessly for the health of others – including those who volunteer – and those who work in the NHS and private sector.

Nominations have come in from colleagues, managers, patients and you, Gazette readers, for those who feel deserve recognition, whether they work in a high-profile role or behind-the-scenes job.

The judging panel will meet on Friday to discuss the nominations and is made up of Blackpool South MP Gordon Marsden, former hospital trust chairman Beverly Lester, retired cardiac surgeon and tireless fundraiser Ramesh Ghandi and chairman of health watchdog Blackpool LINk Norma Rodgers.

Don’t miss next week’s Eve for the big reveal of who has made the shortlist, and exciting details about our De Vere day passes competition for those who nominated health workers who they felt go the extra mile.
