What a tonic!Gin jamboree heads to town

Blackpool folks will get the chance to taste some of the finest gins around at a boozy event this summer.

The Gin Jamboree, which will take place within the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens on August 19, will feature more than 100 artisan gins, with hundreds of tonic and garnish combinations for fans to try in search of their new favourite.

Organiser Andrew Wilson, who recently launched his own range of Old School Gin, said: “We’ve been doing Gin Jamborees since 2010, and during that time have visited some fabulous venues, but nowhere as breathtaking as Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

“To hold an event at a venue which has hosted The Beatles, Morecambe and Wise plus every British Prime Minister sincethe Second World War is very special indeed.

“It will be the first of its kind in Blackpool, whether you’re already a fan of gin, or looking for an introduction.

“We have so many gins to try and every one of them is unique.

“The great thing about the new wave of artisan gins is they’re produced with great loving care by people who are keen alchemists and produced with quality in mind.”

The Gin Jamboree at Winter Gardens will take place from noon until 5pm and then from 6.30pm until 11.30pm. Early bird tickets cost £15 per person.
