A Blackpool mum is seeking walkers with a heart of gold to help a good cause.

Pauline Arnett is organising a fundraising walk, on Sunday, October 4, around Village Urban Resorts Heron’s Reach, in Blackpool.

The event, which will start at 11am at The Victory Pub, is free to enter, but people are asked to raise money through sponsorship for the British Heart Foundation.

The cause is one which means a lot to Pauline, as she and her family received support from the charity.

Her daughter Lucy, now 23, was born with a serious heart condition.

She had to undergo heart surgery at the age of just 18 months. Surgeons had to repair two holes in her heart and fix a leaking valve.

Pauline has been involved with fundraising with the British Heart Foundation for several years and organises a sponsored walk every year.

She said: “Taking part in events like this helps the BHF continue to save lives every day. I urge you to join me and sign up. Walking is the perfect way for people of all ages and abilities to keep their hearts healthy – it’s also fun.”
