The way residents register to vote in elections is changing.
Individual Electoral Registration is now being introduced across the country, which means that everyone will be registered to vote individually, rather than by household.
At the end of July, Wyre residents will receive a letter from their Electoral Registration Officer informing them of the change to the electoral registration system, whether they need to re-register, and what to do.
Residents are advised to look out for the letter and follow the advice.
The council expects that the majority of residents will not have to do anything, but it is expected that around 10 per cent of residents will not automatically be transferred to the new electoral register. If you are moving home or registering for the first time, go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
