Investigations are continuing today into how a window at Blackpool Council’s new Bickerstaffe House building came crashing to earth.
An entire window pane came was damaged on Saturday afternoon. It is not clear how it happened but council chiefs suspect vandalism rather than a weather-related incident.
Coun Fred Jackson said: “We received a call from the police on Saturday afternoon following a report that an outer pane of glass had been damaged at our main office building in Bickerstaffe Square.
“Our officers attended the scene and made the area safe, closing the southbound lane of Cookson Street as a precaution.”
