A LITTLE boy has been left heartbroken after his pet puppy disappeared from outside the family’s front door.
Troy Crane’s younger sister Heaven, three, accidentally let 10-week-old Maddie outside on Saturday evening - and the family have not seen her since.
Neighbours claimed to have seen a woman walking aways from the family’s Keswick Road home, in Blackpool, with the tiny Jack Russell pup, and despite hours of searching 11-year-old Troy and his mum, Elizabeth, have found no trace of their beloved pet.
The disappearance has left Troy, a pupil at Warton’s St Paul’s C of E Primary School, distraught, and Elizabeth said: “It was my son’s first pet and he is heartbroken, we’ve never seen him this upset.
“He had gone to the shop on Saturday and my little girl, who’s only three, opened the front door and let the dog out.
“We realised after five minutes so the could not have got far on its own - it struggled to get down our steps inside and we have front door steps too.”
The family had only had the dog - described as tan and white with a white diamond on her forehead - for a fortnight, and she is yet to have the vital injections which make it safe for her to be outside.
Elizabeth added: “She didn’t have her collar on because she was so tiny she just kept taking it off.
“We’re just appealing for any information about Maddie.”
Lancashire Police confirmed Maddie’s disappearance had been reported to them.
