Eat, drink, be merry, but stay safe please.

Bosses from all three emergency services are reiterating their festive message ahead of New Year celebrations.

Fire, police and ambulance chiefs are calling on people to use emergency provisions wisely, calling 999 for emergencies and using other provisions, such as 111, otherwise.

And they are stressing the usual safety messages to not drink and drive, attempt to cook late at night and also for communities to look out for their neighbours.

Dave Rigby, North West Ambulance Service sector manager for Blackpool and Fylde, said: “Yes, go out and have fun but alternate your drinks, think about your actions and certainly don’t drink and drive.”
