Motorcyclist ‘seriously’ hurt in crash

A man is in a serious condition in being airlifted to hospital following a crash in Wyre.

Police are appealing for information about the crash, involving a motorbike and a car, in Pilling yesterday.

We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle in the area prior to the incident.

Head Dyke Lane was closed for around four hours following the smash, which was reported at 12.25pm.

The 66-year-old motorcyclist, who police say is local, remains in a serious condition, having suffered head and knee injuries.

It is understood the Honda motorbike was travelling towards Lancaster when it collided with the rear end of a Fiat Stilo car.

Sgt Nigel Ralphson, of the Road Policing Unit , said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle in the area prior to the incident.

“Any information you may have could help us to establish exactly how this collision came to occur.”
