Emergency services released a man trapped in his vehicle after a crash this morning.

Firefighters were called out to a two-vehicle collision on Fleetwood Road, in Singleton, at around 6.45am.

A Ford Transit minibus and a Toyota Rav4 were involved in the crash, which forced police to close the road between Grange Road and Mile Road.

Two crews attended, one from Wesham and another from Bispham, and used chocks and blocks in the rescue.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for a precautionary check-up.

Firefighters spent around 45 minutes at the scene.

Police reopened the road at 8.40am although motorists reported slow-moving traffic in the area for around 45 minutes afterwards.
