A man involved in a collision in the car park of a Garstang supermarket has died.

The 66-year-old driver of a Toyota Avensis who was thought to have taken ill at the wheel in Booths car park on Park hill Road has passed away at the Royal Preston Hospital.

Police said the man, who is from the Cabus area, was involved in an accident with a Honda Civic shortly after 12pm on Tuesday.

The driver of the Honda was unhurt.

Officers are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

Sgt Dave Hogarth from the Road Policing Unit said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the car park at the time and witnessed what happened to contact police on 101.
