A 22-year-old man died when his car crashed into a tree on Sunday evening.
The man, from Blackpool, was driving a Renault Clio along Garstang Road towards the A6 in St Michaels when he lost control on a right hand bend.
The driver was fatally injured in the crash, which happened at around 6.40pm.
Sgt Lee Campbell from Lancashire’s Force Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident in which a young man has lost his life.
“I would appeal to anybody who witnessed the collision to come forward.”
The road was closed for four hours for scene examination and recovery.
Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call police on 101.
