Heavy traffic on regions motorways

Drivers are suffering delays due to congestion on the North West's motorway network

There are tailbacks on some of the region's main roads

Delays are reported on the M62, M61 M6 and M55.

Normal conditions are expected by around 3pm.

Traffic is particularly heaving heading north on the M6 around Preston and on the M55 heading into Blackpool as crowds flock to the resort's air show and travellers head to the Lake District.
