A WOMAN got into difficulties when the tide cut her off from the shore while she was walking her dog.

The woman called the coastguard after getting into trouble at around 11.30am in Fleetwood.

The coastguard and Fleetwood Inshore Lifeboat were sent to the scene, but the woman was able to wade through the waist-deep water to safety.

Liverpool Coastguard watch manager Paul Parks said: “The woman said she had made a mistake and got into difficulties, but the main thing is, although she was worried, she is now safe.
