Crash shuts Blackpool road

A busy Bispham road was closed for more than an hour following a collision between a car and a motorbike.

The incident happened at the junction of Devonshire Road and Munster Avenue at around 9pm on Monday.

A grey Citroen and a red Honda motorbike were involved in the crash.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene and the 31 year old male rider of the motorcycle was reported to have suffered leg, back and head injuries.

He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The road, which is the official diversion route during the closure of Plymouth Road for bridge reconstruction was shut until around 10.30pm.
