Transport police officers and firefighters searching for a person thought to have been hit by a train have discovered a body.
A train driver contacted the ambulance service as he believed his train had struck someone at 2pm near the Wyre Viaduct on Station Lane in Scorton, near Garstang.
British Transport Police, Lancashire Constabulary, North West Ambulance Service and firefighters from Lancaster attended the scene to search for a victim, and at 3.15pm reported they had found a body.
No details are known about the person, though their death is not being treated as suspicious.
Buses are currently replacing trains between Preston and Lancaster.
