AN inquest into the death of a young mum found hanged at a friend’s house has been officially opened.
The body of Hannah Stephanie Mitchell, 25, of Kemp Street, Fleetwood was discovered at the home on Greenwood Avenue, Blackpool, last month.
Paramedics and the police were called to the address but Miss Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Blackpool Coroner’s officer PC Ken Lord told the opening: “Miss Mitchell was dropped off at a friend’s house by her sister on the evening of December 27.
“She stayed the night at her friend’s address, drinking heavily into the early hours of the morning.
“The friend went to bed at 3am leaving Hannah alive and still drinking. When the friend got up, Hannah’s jacket was on the sofa but she wasn’t there.”

Coroner Anne Hind adjourned the inquest pending a full post mortem and the results of toxicology tests.
She said: “I will adjourn this inquest to receive a full post mortem report, the background surrounding the situation and details from family.
A Facebook tribute page has been set up in tribute to the young mum, a former pupil at Millfield High School in Thornton, following her tragic death.
The number of people who have now signed up totals almost 700 people.
