VIDEO: Car crash caught on camera

  • by David Sharman

THIS is the shocking moment two cars crashed on a busy road before one of the vehicles smashed into a garden wall.

A silver Nissan Micra and a Citroen Xsara collided at the junction of Pedder’s Lane and Burnage Gardens, in South Shore, at 8am yesterday.

The silver Nissan then hit the garden wall belonging to Burnage Gardens’ resident John Berry.

Mr Berry, 37, caught the incident on CCTV cameras which he has installed in his house.

He said said: “Traffic’s a problem down here at school times – it’s a rat run.

“If people had been on their way to school it could have taken two or three kids out.”

The crash was witnessed by Mr Berry’s 32-year-old pregnant wife Natalie.

Mr Berry added: “My wife rang me up at work hysterical to say someone had come through the front garden.

“Down the street there’s been a few near misses, it’s happened before.”

A man driving the Citroen was injured in the crash but after being treated by paramedics he was able to walk to an ambulance which took him to hospital to be checked over.

A Volkswagen Vento was also damaged in the incident.

There was traffic disruption on Pedder’s Lane for more than an hour while the police arranged for the vehicles to be removed.
