A crash at the junction of Cherry Tree Road North and Preston New Road, Marton, which closed the road.

DRIVERS faced traffic delays after a collision between two cars in Marton.

A red Peugeot 207 and black Renault Clio collided on Cherry Tree Road, close to the junction with Preston New Road, at 11.55am yesterday.

The road was blocked for around an hour while the vehicles were taken away and one person suffered minor injuries in the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: “Two cars collided at the junction which blocked the road.

“One person was walking wounded and a little bit shaken up.”

Part of a narrow country lane was also closed off yesterday afternoon after an incident involving a van.

Police were called to Wild Lane, known locally as the Moss road, in St Annes around a quarter of a mile from the B&Q store at 4.20pm.

The white Vauxhall van was partially off the road, although it was passable to other traffic.

Police closed off the road at 5pm for a short time while the van was recovered.

The male driver of the van was unhurt in the incident.
