A SHRIMPING vessel was towed to safety after breaking down in the sea opposite Blackpool Tower.
A lifeboat was launched from RNLI Blackpool at 9am on Wednesday to rescue the stricken 30 foot long boat and the man on board.
An RNLI crew member went aboard then attached a towline before the vessel was towed to Fleetwood.
Fleetwood RNLI’s lifeboat then took over the operation and brought the boat safely to shore.
