TRAFFIC is back to normal after a van crashed into the central reservation of the M55 this morning, closing two lanes.
The accident closed lane three going eastbound between junction three at Kirkham and junction one at Fulwood. A lane was also closed on the other side of the motorway.
The van crashed into the central barrier at around 6.10am, and it was recovered to the hard shoulder by the Highways Agency.
A spokesman said the crash caused a significant amount of damage to the barrier, but no-one was injured in the incident.
The agency had to stop traffic to reopen the road at 8.20am, and traffic returned to normal at around 8.30am.
