Biker, 49, in road crash

Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Blackpool Victoria Hospital

A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after being in collision with a car on a rural Fylde road.

The 49-year-old man was struck by a blue Renault Clio on Weeton Road in Singleton, at about 3.15pm yesterday.

He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital by ambulance with what were believed to be leg injuries.

Police officers were also called to scene after being alerted by the ambulance crew.

The road was kept open to other traffic while the casualty was attended to by the emergency services and while investigations were carried out.

One side of the road remained open to traffic throughout the incident.

No-one else was hurt.
