Appeal after woman injured

Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Blackpool Victoria Hospital

A WOMAN had to be taken to hospital after she was struck by a car in St Annes.

The 48-year-old suffered a broken hip in the incident, which occurred as she crossed Orchard Road, between Wood Street and St Annes Road West, on Wednesday, February 13.

And now police are anxious to trace the driver of the car involved, which is thought to
have been a new shape dark-coloured Ford Mondeo.

It is thought it may have been parked outside a local estate agent before the incident.

PC Matt Burn, from Blackpool road policing unit, said: ““I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward and contact the police.

“It may well be that the driver is unaware that a collision has taken place and I would to them direct to get in touch.”

The incident happened at around 10.30am, and the injured woman was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20130213-0342.

Alternatively anyone with information can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or go online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
