Police were called to help keep a busy junction moving after traffic was brought to a near standstill.
Drivers were left bumper to bumper while road repairs were carried out at the junction of Amy Johnson Way and Squires Gate Lane in South Shore on Sunday.
A section of one of the lanes on Amy Johnson Way was closed off to allow for resurfacing works, meaning traffic was backed up in the car park of Morrisons supermarket.
Due to the number of vehicles backing up towards the store, a police officer was called around 1pm to help staff members keep the flow of traffic moving.
A spokesman for Blackpool police confirmed an officer had been sent to keep the traffic moving during the busy period, while road repairs were able to continue.
