This week’s Pet of the Week is a loving house cat named Tipsy.
Her name comes from the fact she was born with a neurological abnormality which makes her unsteady on her feet.
When she came to the RSPCA’s Longview Animal Centre in Blackpool she was unable to stand or use her claws. With help from staff at centre on Division Lane, she has put on weight and is able to stand and move about, albeit a little unsteadily.
A spokesman for the centre said: “We are looking for a foster home for Tipsy.
“She needs to be kept as a house cat because of her mobility issues and must stay indoors. It’s important that she is the only pet in the house as other animals may knock her over when playing and she will struggle to get up again.
“Tipsy is very loving and likes to sit on laps and be stroked.”
Tipsy, who is black all over, is thought to be around six years old, though she is kitten sized because of her low weight. To foster her, or for more information, call Longview Animal Centre on (01253) 763991.
l Last week we featured Aurora, the 18-month-old Akita dog with a sweet personality. Longview has not received any inquiries about Aurora, who remains available for adoption.
She is nervous around other dogs and people, and is not ideal in homes with small children. Call the centre for further details and adoption.
