Tiny Tower model gives a new view of Blackpool

A 3d image of Blackpool tower created for a 3d map of the region from 3D specialist Hobs Studio in Manchester, which  has played a key role in the production of the largest ever contour map of the North West, which is the key attraction of the International Festival of Business (IFB), on display at Mann Island in Liverpool throughout July.

Here is a view of Blackpool Tower and the Fylde coast that you won’t have seen before.

This tiny model was “printed” using the latest 3D Printing techniques to show off the abilities of the cutting edge technology. 
It forms part of a huge 3D map of the region made for engineer Alan Torevell.

It is being used to illustrate his innovative North West Squared proposals to produce renewable energy through tidal gateways along the North West coast at the International Festival of Business at Mann Island in Liverpool throughout July.
The 1:3,500 scale model which stands just 4cm tall was made by 3D specialist Hobs Studio in Manchester and took 90 minutes to print out. Hi-tech engineering firms across the UK such as BAE Warton are looking to develop 3D printing as a cheap way of manufacturing parts.
