A GROUP of local walkers will be taking on three peaks in one day to raise cash for children’s charity Raleigh International.
Victoria Lapsins, from Poulton, will be pulling on her walking boots in June to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with friends Jenny Campbell, Samantha Salthouse, Stephanie Hoban, Gareth Lapsins and Kayleigh Cooper.
The charity trek will see them walk 24.5 miles and climb more than 5000 feet within 12 hours.
Victoria is going to Costa Rica this September to volunteer as a project manager for the Raleigh International.
She will be helping with community projects to improve health and educational services and environmental projects.
Victoria said: “I’ve always wanted to walk the Three Peaks.
“Knowing I’m raising funds for Raleigh is really going to help me.
“Raleigh is an amazing charity, and the more money I can contribute towards their work, the better.”
