A man told a custody officer he was HIV positive and threatened to spit in his face at Blackpool police station.
Sean Roscoe had been arrested after cursing at officers.
I’m HIV positive and I’m going to spit in your face
Roscoe, 27, of Taylor Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and being in breach of a conditional discharge for begging.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Alison Quanbrough, prosecuting, said the incident happened on February 27.
He repeatedly swore at officers on Talbot Road.
When questioned, he lied and gave false personal details, before staggering into the Whittle Springs pub, taking a pint off a table and drinking it in one.
While in the cells at Blackpool police station, he told the custody officer: “I’m HIV positive and I’m going to spit in your face.”
Simon Farnsworth, defending, said: “He is a chronic alcoholic and also has problems with drugs. He has no memory of what happened on the day of the offence.”
